Volunteers
The key to the success of the Father Fred Foundation is the hundreds of volunteers that donate thousands of hours to help those in need. Volunteers work with client intake, office assistance, food, clothing and houshold goods distribution. They help with furniture donations and other special projects.
We have a staff of 135 registered volunteers, but hundreds of others in the community donate just a few hours to help with special projects like the annual garage sale, Christmas toy distribution, fundraisers and other activities. The Foundation is an excellent place for students to get real-life experiences serving others. In fact we have Wednesday evening hours and special projects to accommodate school schedules.
On any given day aboaut 25 volunteers work shoulder to shoulder with a commitment of treating other volunteers, staff and clients with respect and dignity. Each volunteer works an average of four hours per week. All volunteers are expected to take leaves for vacations or other commitments. We want all of our volunteers to be involved in meaningful hands-on work without ever feeling over-committed.
